An M&A process is not very common in companies, and it allows us to see how leaders behave… and how they should probably act in their regular activities.

Recently, we discussed this circumstance internally, and four symptoms of a leader who always leaves a good impression emerged.

  1. They focus on the result, not the process. They clearly state what they want.
  2. They clearly indicate when there will be feedback, which is always constructive in public.
  3. They help improve even the subordinates of their subordinates.
  4. Very occasionally, they engage in micromanagement because they enjoy it and know that it brings them prestige and improves the processes.

Thus, even when the transaction does not end successfully, it leaves a good impression and sometimes serves as a catalyst for things to change as they proposed.
