CLOSA CLOSES 8 TRANSACTIONS IN 2017

2017 has been another noteworthy year for CLOSA. We advised clients in all of our focus sectors on 8 transactions. 80% involved a foreign buyer or target, which emphasizes the strength of our international reach and close cooperation with our international partners

More importantly, 2016 was the year that we framed a different strategy being only focussing in serving our client´needs. We decided to give up an international investment banking group wich we had founded to avoid conflict of interest.

While continuously increasing our international presence and industry focus, we look forward to further building on what we have established over the past 30 years: fully integrated advice encompassing M&A, debt and equity & ECM advisory.

For 2018 we expect markets to remain strong. International strategic players are well capitalized and looking to grow their global presence, private equity firms are sitting on record levels of dry powder and debt financing is widely available.

Investors are actively seeking ways to deploy their capital into growth opportunities. Especially Spanish small- and medium-sized enterprises are expected to remain in demand the year ahead, since they form excellent platform companies and a gateway to continental Europe. Survivors from the crisis have strong appetite to growth globally.

CLOSA WITH NEW MANAGEMENT

 

 

CLOSA introduced a new management at its location in Madrid.

Diego Moreno Peral joins the company on 1 June 2018 as Director and will head the Middle Office of CLOSA in Spain.

Diego Moreno is 28 years old and can look back some years of experience in the field of M&A transactions. He was Analist Director of KPMG in Santiago de Chile and Madrid and he also has experience in Hong Kong and Jakarta. He will represent CLOSA in the conferences, seminars and round tables to keep CLOSA in the cutting edge of the financial serrvices since the inception in 1987. He holds Double Degree in Business Administration & Law in CUNEF

During the first six months, we have completed 7 operations with a range of valuations between € 7.9m and € 583m and everything seems to indicate that we will repeat a vintage like 2007.

The statistics are part of our constant analysis since we started 30 years ago.

Curiously, it is becoming more complicated to define what a cross-border operation is: a Spanish company owned by a foreign company acquires another in another country and the decision makers as well as market presence are distributed in different places .... What nationality is the buyer and the seller? Should we begin to generalize more and say USA, Latin America, Europe, Japan, China and Africa?

On the other hand we see that the rate of operations that are done with financial advisor in the mid-market, the so-called coverage rate according to our research, returns to almost 80% and continues to rise as a symptom of the consideration of the need for professionalization which is already very widespread, as is the case in more mature markets.

Lastly, and the number that most satisfies us: almost 92% of our customer base is either a repeat or direct recommendation, with the remaining 8% being from web, conferences or public appearances: our resources are never dedicated to commercials but to improving our service to our customers. And this is our main source of recognition.

GGI GCG European Regional Conference

This year GGI GCG European regional conference took place in Brussels between the 11th and 14th of May. Over 230 delegates from all over the world participated at the event. CLOSA assisted enthusiastically to the event and participated very actively.

Several meetings, conferences, meals and other activities were very well organized for creating a professional and friendly atmosphere.

This kind of events reinforce the network and allows us all to achieve our aim “Client satisfaction” by combining global and local expertise.

World conference 2017 will take place in November in Vienna.
